Savita Diggs graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a B.A. in Economics and a minor in Politics. At the BIG Lab, she contributes to projects led by Professors Dinkelman, Kaboski, and Estefan. Most recently, her work has centered around Professor Dinkelman's research on free primary education, labor markets, and political engagement in African countries. Savita is also a part of the Structural Transformation and Economic Growth (STEG) team. She will be entering a Ph.D. program in Economics at Yale University in the fall of 2023. Her research interests include early childhood health, education, and women's labor, in developing countries.

"At the BIG Lab I have had the opportunity to be involved in and learn about every step of the research process, from project design to journal submission. Throughout the work, the Notre Dame mission of respect, dignity, and inquiry is central, both in internal research teams and in regards to external work on international poverty alleviation. This humanity-driven approach to development research was an important aspect of drawing me to the BIG Lab. Beyond research, I have greatly appreciated that faculty members take real and personal interest in my growth and goals."
