Biography

Edwige Tia is an Assistant Professor of Economics in the Department of Social Sciences at Holy Cross College in Notre Dame Indiana. Her research focuses on Agriculture, Land Use, Policy Analysis and Development Economics. She has research and work experience in both developed and developing countries. More specifically, her research endeavors include evaluating the impacts of the Greenbelt policy on land prices and housing affordability within the Greater Toronto Area. She has also contributed to water quality research initiatives within Indigenous communities in Canada.

Additionally, her scholarly contributions extend to investigating tenure security dynamics and rural rental markets in Pakistan. Edwige has also worked as a World Bank Consultant evaluating safety net programs and as an International Development practitioner in West Africa on USAID-funded projects.

She holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc in Food, Agriculture and Resource Economics from the University of Guelph in Canada, an M.A. in Economics from Fordham University as well as a B.A. in Math-Economics from Agnes Scott College.
